You can ground both the operator and the Statshield Smock using the coil cord on the wrist strap, or by using the coil cord attaching to the ground point near the hip of the smock and connecting to the common point ground. That is if there is snug contact from conductive cuff to operator’s skin.

This is a recognized personnel grounding method. Per ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007 Personnel Grounding Requirement Table 2 Note 2: “For situations where an ESD garment is used as part of the wrist strap grounding path, the total system resistance including the person, garment and grounding cord shall be less than 3.5 x 10^7 ohms.”
